How My-Prompt Plus can help through Access to Work
My-Prompt Plus is designed to support organisation, memory, task management and managing overwhelm in day-to-day work. My-Prompt Plus can be funded not just as a tool, but as a combination of assistive technology and human support. My-Prompt Plus includes both the app, and coaching or specialist support. This can help you to apply My-Prompt Plus's helpful strategies in your real work environment. This combined approach is recommended for most, as this additional guidance that fits your role and routine can ensure your support is as impactful as possible.

IS ACCESS TO WORK RIGHT FOR YOU?
Who can apply?
You may be eligible for Access to Work if you have a condition that affects your ability to work, and you are in paid employment or are about to start a job. A formal diagnosis is not necessary. What matters is how the difficulties you experience impact your work. Examples of this would be struggling with starting tasks, organisation, time management or coping with feelings of overwhelm.

How to apply
The application process is simple, but may feel unclear if you haven’t done it before.
First, you apply online through the government website and provide details about your job and how your condition impacts you at work.

You can also call 0800 121 7479 and follow the same process of outlining your needs.
After you apply, you will be contacted by an Access to Work adviser. Your needs will be discussed, and they may recommend having an assessment.
The assessment’s purpose is to identify what support would be most useful to you in your role. You will then receive a decision outlining what support has been approved, and how the funding will be allocated.
After approval, you can begin putting support in place.

What to say in your application
When you’re applying or speaking to an adviser, focusing on the challenges you experience before naming a specific product can be helpful. As an example, you may describe difficulty remembering tasks, feeling overwhelmed by your workload, and finding it difficult to start or complete tasks. After this, you can explain that a structured tool like My-Prompt alongside coaching would help you to manage these challenges more effectively. You are allowed to suggest tools as part of your application, so mentioning My-Prompt or My-Prompt Plus can help to ensure it is considered for your support package.
Already approved for Access to Work?
If Access to Work has already been approved for you, you can request My-Prompt as part of your funded support. This could include My-Prompt Plus, depending on what had been agreed in your award. Once funding is in place, you can provide your approval details and get started with your support.
Important things to know
Support should be personalised rather than standardised. Access to Work funding is based not just on your diagnosis, but your needs. It can take time for applications to be processed, so applying as soon as possible is recommended if you are already finding work challenging or anticipating the start of a new role. Many people find the process easier once they understand they don’t need to have everything figured out beforehand.
